The Company's designers work to combine classic American styling with unique details and fit to give time-honored basics a fresh and updated look-- a "classics with a twist" approach- which is the Company's hallmark. The Company emphasizes core and basic styles as the principal components of its product offerings ands its apparel products are designed to appeal to costumers who desire high quality, designer clothes at competitive prices.

Building upon its successful foundation in the menswear business, Tommy Hilfiger has achieved a leading position in other categories as well. Since its inception in 1985 as a menswear line, the strength of the Tommy Hilfiger brand has been built on a powerful design philosophy of bringing a fresh perspective to traditional, all-American stylings. The approach proved so compelling that it has been successfully developed across a growing number of product categories. For example, in response to customer demand, in 1993 the Company launched its childrenswear division, which has since become a leading supplier of infants and kids clothing to department stores throughout the United States.

In 1996, the company launched its womenswear division, making Tommy Hilfiger one of the very few menswear designers to incorporate a profitable women's line into the mix. In less than two decades, the Company has grown from a single line of business to one that encompasses several core operations that work in concert to extend the scope of the brand and meet the many needs of a customer following that includes children, teens and adults of all races, backgrounds and nationalities. In addition to mens wear, womenswear, jeanswear and children wear, the core business include a licensing operation, a retail arm and an international business.

Through its subsidiaries, the Company designs, sources and markets men's and women's sportswear, jeanswear and childrenswear under the Tommy Hilfiger trademarks. Through a range of strategic licensing agreements, the Company also offers a broad array of related apparel, accessories, footwear, fragrance and home furnishings. The Company's products can be found in leading department and specialty stores throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Central and South America, Japan, Hong Kong and other countries in the Far East, as well as the Company's own network of specialty and outlet stores in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Tommy Hilfiger is the Company's principal designer and provides leadership and direction for all aspects of the design process. The brand is driven by the singular vision and values of Tommy Hilfiger himself. Apart from designing, Tommy is also involved in a number of charitable causes.

In 1995, the Company founded the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation, whose goal is to be a major force in promoting the wellness of youth with a major emphasis on education and cultural programs that impact a diverse population.

Tommy Hilfiger entered India in April 2004. There are currently 5 exclusive freestanding stores in India. These include 2 stores in New Delhi, 1 in Chandigarh, 1 in Bangalore and 1 in Mumbai.

The apparel lines introduced in India currently include Mens Sportswear, Mens Jeanswear and Junior Jeanswear. Women's Sportswear will be introduced in fall 2004. The stores also carry Watches, Eyewear, Hand Bags, Belts and Small Leather Goods.
